Rutherford Family Dental is a growing private practice located in Winchester, Virginia, a historic city in the northern Shenandoah Valley about 90 minutes west of Washington, D.C.
We are a collaborative, learning-focused practice serving a loyal and expanding patient base. Due to rapid growth, the owner has been working 5–6 days per week and is ready to bring on an associate to support demand and continue building the practice thoughtfully.

Compensation: 33% of collections
Expected Earnings: $200,000–$425,000 annually
Daily Guarantee: $800/day

One week paid vacation after one year (for full-time)
Currently, health insurance, 401(k), sign-on bonus, and relocation assistance are not established but may be open for discussion as the role evolves.

This position is open to full-time or part-time candidates.
Typical schedule is Tuesday–Friday, with Saturdays optional (recently phased out but can be discussed based on preference). The practice offers a high degree of flexibility, and the associate will have input on scheduling and hours.
Clinical scope is flexible and based on comfort and growth goals. The current owner:
Refers out 100% of endodontics
Does not currently place implants
Provides Invisalign
Is expanding into laser dentistry
There is immediate opportunity for an associate to:
Expand into endodontics (if desired)
Introduce implant placement (if trained)
Grow surgical or advanced procedures
Build a niche within the practice
Technology includes:
Digital X-rays
iTero scanner (used for patient education and Invisalign)
Panoramic imaging
Fotona LightWalker laser (recently added; expanding into frenectomies, perio surgeries, NightLase for sleep apnea, and more)
The owner is actively pursuing CE to expand laser-based procedures and is open to growing the clinical scope alongside the associate.
Mentorship is available, particularly for a motivated dentist who wants support while growing clinically.
There is a path to partnership available for the right long-term fit.
The ideal candidate is:
A licensed general dentist (or eligible for Virginia licensure)
Open to experienced dentists or motivated new graduates
Comfortable performing bread-and-butter dentistry
Interested in expanding skills (endo, implants, laser, etc.)
Has a positive attitude and a strong desire to keep learning
Team-oriented and collaborative
