Barras Family Dentistry is a well established private practice with deep roots in the heart ofLafayette Louisiana. Lafayette is in the center of Louisiana's Cajun and Creole Country, an area know for letting the good times roll. Or as we say it "laissez les bons temps rouler". We were recently noticed by the Wall Street Journal's MarketWatch.com as being the "Happiest City in America". We have a rich cultural history, a bustling culinary scene, and were known for our distinctive blend of Cajun and Zydeco music. There's a festival marking every season and a optimistic place to raise children. Our office is located in the center of Lafayette, right next door to River Ranch and a 10 minute drive to the city of Youngsville and Broussard. All great places to live!
Barras Family Dentistry is state of the art while offering detailed personal care for each of our patients. Our goal is optimal dental care and overall health for every single patient. We have established a long tradition in our community of be a family oriented dental practice that provides comprehensive fine dentistry and a strong soft tissue management program thanks to our wonderful hygienists. We strive to combine our commitment to the highest standards of quality dental care with personalized, compassionate and excellent service.
We currently care for about 4,000 active patients. We employ 4-5 full time hygienists Monday-Thursday and usually 2 on Fridays. We have 2 full time dentists with the hopes of one stepping down.
Both doctors are currently producing over a million a year.
We operate through Dentrix, are fully digital (x-rays/CBCT) and paperless. We offer most services and refer out what we feel a specialist can do better. We are really looking forward to finding and mentoring the right candidate. It would be nice to have a bit of experience, but still be open to coaching. We are open to introducing new procedures into our practice if the right candidate comes with special talents!
Our ideal candidate will be comfortable in a fast-paced environment and have the ability to manage a productive work schedule while being a respected part of an excellent team. They have to be comfortable with diagnosing and presenting comprehensive treatment plans. We are a family practice so you must be comfortable treating patients of all ages, although the 90% of our patients are adults. Our ideal candidate must be proficient in performing typical procedures such as basic restorative, crown and bridge, extractions, root canals, TMD and removable prosthetics. Implant placement and restorative training is a plus. Treatment planning amongst our diagnostic team must remain consistent.
We are seeking a full time position and ultimately pay will be based on a percentage of what is produced. While getting acclimated to our practice there will be a daily minimum in place of $700. We feel confident that the right practitioner will out preform the daily minimum quite quickly. However, the daily minimum will be honored for 6 months to give you peace of mind while you settle in. We know that every doctor is different and we feel that what you earn should reflect the effort that you put in.
The earning potential of our practice is huge. We will set realistic goals together and give you a pragmatic path of achieving them. BFD's core values are centered around actively listening to and serving our patients needs with empathy and improving their overall health.
If you think you may be a good fit and are interested in living in the "Happiest City in America", please apply. We'd love to meet you!
