Looking for a general dentist or pediatric dentist. All patients are 18 years or under. What procedures will the associate be doing?

Dentist Duties & Responsibilities

  • Provide comprehensive dental care for infants, children, adolescents, and patients with special healthcare needs.
  • Perform comprehensive oral examinations, diagnoses, and treatment planning.
  • Deliver preventive care
  • Restore primary and permanent teeth with fillings, crowns, pulp therapy, and other restorative procedures.
  • Perform simple and surgical extractions as indicated.
  • Diagnose and manage dental trauma, infections, and other dental emergencies.
  • Evaluate growth and development of the teeth, jaws, and bite, making orthodontic referrals when appropriate.
  • Utilize behavior guidance techniques to create a positive, child-friendly dental experience.
  • Administer local anesthesia, nitrous oxide, and sedation in accordance with California regulations and practice protocols, when credentialed.
  • Educate parents and caregivers on preventive dentistry, nutrition, oral habits, and home care.
  • Develop individualized treatment plans based on each child’s oral health needs.
  • Maintain accurate, timely, and compliant clinical documentation and treatment records.
  • Collaborate effectively with dental assistants, hygienists, specialists, and administrative staff to provide exceptional patient care.
  • Maintain current knowledge of evidence-based pediatric dentistry and comply with all California Dental Board, OSHA, HIPAA, and infection control standards.
  • Foster strong relationships with patients and families through compassionate communication and excellent customer service.
