COMMUNITY DESCRIPTION:
San Angelo, TX lies in the midst of West Texas ranching country. The Concho River winds through the community and three lakes are within a few minutes of the downtown. The city was established in the late 1860’s, across the river from Historic Fort Concho, which served as headquarters for the 4th and 10th cavalry and 16th infantry. Originally named Santa Angela in honor of Carolina Angela de la Garza DeWitt, the wife of the city’s founder, the name later changed to San Angelo. Today, San Angelo embraces its western frontier heritage, while also showcasing state-of-the-art cultural attractions, including the San Angelo Museum of Fine Arts, the newly-renovated City Auditorium, the San Angelo Performing Arts Center, the San Angelo Symphony, and more. The public art collection in San Angelo continues to grow from the Historic Murals to Art in Uncommon Places. Discover San Angelo…the Pearl of West Texas!
Corpus Christi, TX is within 2 hours of San Antonio and 3 hours of Austin. Corpus Christi is a coastal community with a beautiful bay front and first-class marina, mild temperatures and lots of sunshine, and the sixth largest port in the United States. It is a great place to raise a family and a beautiful place to live. Our community offers multiple recreation facilities, historical sites, and great restaurants. Due to our year-round tropical climate, our residents enjoy unlimited outdoor activities which include fishing, hiking, biking, hunting, camping, relaxing on the beach, and tours of the local wildlife preserves.
